Dr Maricar Jones

Dr Maricar Jones is a caring GP, who has a passion for whole person, patient-centered care. She completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science with Honours in Developmental Biology at the University of Queensland, where she also conducted research into neural stem cells. She went on to complete her MBBS at Griffith University, graduating in 2010.
Dr Jones began her medical career as a junior doctor at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, gaining experience across a broad range of clinical areas in a major tertiary setting. She also worked in a biotechnology clinical trial company focused on skin cancer research, further strengthening her evidence-based approach to medicine.
She has since worked in both metropolitan and rural general practice settings, including Rural Victoria and was awarded her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2022.
Dr Jones enjoys all aspects of general practice and has particular interest in women’s health, preventative care, child and adolescent well being, mental health and minor procedures including Implanon insertions/removals, skin checks and Mirena removals.
Outside the clinic, Dr Jones likes spending time with her young family, enjoys the ballet, Latin dancing, and a good plate of tacos.
